Every year New Hampshire ski areas put their best effort into making learning to ski or ride fun and affordable. These learn to ski programs put an emphasis on an enjoyable learning experience and helping the new skier or rider get used to the basics of the sport. Sessions include everything a first-timer needs to hit the slopes, and as an added incentive, many programs include a reward upon completion to help skiers and snowboarders enjoy their new sport as often as possible.

LEARN TO SKI & SNOWBOARD LESSON PACKAGES:
Attitash, Bartlett
- First Experience Ski or Ride (age 13+) - Package includes equipment rentals, beginner lift ticket & 90 minute group clinic for $85.
- Three Clinics (age 13+) - Package includes a 3-day novice ilft ticket & a 3-day equipment rental for $155.
The Balsams, Dixville Notch
-Learn to Ski or Ride (age 14+) - The package includes a lesson, novice lift ticket, and rentals for $80.
Black Mountain, Jackson
-Learn to Ski or Ride (age 13+) - The package includes a lesson, all-day lift ticket, and rentals for $59.
Bretton Woods, Bretton Woods
-Red Carpet Learn to Ski or Ride (age 13+) - This package includes ski or board rental, a group lesson and unlimited access to the Learning Center Quad chairlift for $75.
-Family Private Lessons - This is a lesson for the first-time family to be introduced to skiing together. It's a one-hour private lesson for a family (from two to five people) with two instructors. Cost is $250; lift tickets & equipment rentals are additional.
Cannon Mountain, Franconia Notch
-First Time Package (age 13+) - Package includes lesson, rental & beginner lift ticket for $63.
Cranmore Mountain, North Conway
-Getting Started Package (age 13+) - Package includes lift ticket, two-hour lesson & rentals for $89.
-Three Then Free (age 13+) - Take three beginner or intermediate group lessons and receive a free season pass for the rest of the winter (ages 13+).
Crotched Mountain, Bennington
-Ski & Ride 101 (age 7+) - Program includes a beginner area lift ticket, rental equipment, and a lesson with a pro for $79 anytime.
Dartmouth Skiway - Lyme Center
-Intro to Snow Sports - Program is available midweek, non-holiday for $60.
Granite Gorge - Keene/Roxbury
-Adult Learn to Ski/Ride Lessons (age 18+) - Adult lessons are offered Friday evenings from 6:15-7:15p. After your lesson, you can stay & practice until 8p. Advance registration recommended. Cost is $50 per class (includes lesson, rental & lift ticket).
Gunstock Mountain Resort, Gilford
-Mountain Magic (age 6+) - This nationally recognized & award winning learn to ski or ride program includes Head BYS System rental skis or Burton LTR Boards, prime time lift tickets and group instruction. Cost is $90.
-Three Day Package (age 6+) - For $180, you receive three days of prime time lift tickets, with a two-hour group lesson on each day, and ski or snowboard rental each day. Days can be used any time in the current season. At the completion of the third lesson, your "Magic Card" entitles you to 50% off all subsequent lessons during the current season, 50% off all rental equipment during the current season, $15 off any helmet from Mountainside Outfitters retail & demo center, 20% off ski wear in the Mountainside Outfitters retail shop, and choice of either 50% off your prime time or night lift tickets purchased during the current season OR the purchase of a Prime Time season pass valid to the end of the current season for just $149.
-Upgrade Package (age 6+) - Complete your Mountain Magic experience. Start with the first day for $90 & you get a prime time lift ticket (lower mountain only), wtih a two-hour group lesson and ski or snowboard rental for the day. Our passion for skiing & riding will inspire you to add two more days for just $90, and you will be entitled to all the benefits upon completion of the program!
King Pine, East Madison
-First Timer Package (age 4+) - Package includes an all-day beginner lift ticket, equipment rental and a 90-minute group lesson. The cost is $66 for adults (age 13+), $53 for juniors (ages 612) and $37 for juniors (ages 4-5).
-Master the Mountain - This is a flexible three-session learning package, including three all-day lift tickets (beginner lifts only on day one, and all lifts ticket days two & three), three lessons and three days of rentals. Cost is $158 for adults and $134 for ages 8-12.
Loon Mountain, Lincoln
-Level 1 Peak Seekers Intro Package (age 13+) - Package includes equipment, an all-day lift ticket and a group lesson; full-day (five hour) and half-day (three hour) sessions are available. Full-day lift/lesson/rental is $155, full-day lift/lesson is $130 and full-day lesson only is $85. Half-day lift/lesson is $110, and half-day lesson only is $70.
-Add an Afternoon - Had such a great time in your Peak morning lesson? Upgrade your morning half-day lesson to a full-day lesson for only $20.
McIntyre Ski Area, Manchester
-Learn-To Program - Package includes a 1-hour group lesson, rental equipment & beginner area lift ticket, and is available Saturdays or Sundays between 11am-3pm. Cost is $49.
Mount Sunapee, Newbury
-Get Into Skiing or Snowboarding (age 13+) - The first day consists of a two-hour lesson, rental equipment and a South Peak Learning Area lift ticket for $80. Second and third days can be added for $40 per day. Upon completion of the second day, guests are entered in a giveaway to win 1 of ten Giro helmets. After the third day, participants receive a Mount Sunapee Flex Card, entitling the holder to discounts at the resort for the rest of the winter.
-Midweek Get Into Skiing or Snowboarding - A specially priced one-day, midweek, non-holiday program consists of a two-hour lesson, rental equipment and a South Peak Learning Area lift ticket for only $49.
-Families First (age 8+) - This program allows families to learn to ski or ride together. Family members, ages 8 and up, are placed in the same lesson group. The first day consists of a two-hour introductory lesson, rental equipment and a learning area lift ticket; cost is $80. Specially priced second & third day options include lesson, equipment & learning area lift ticket for $40 per day. At the completion of day two, each person is entered into a drawing to win one of 10 snow helmets from Giro & at completion of day three, each participant receives a free Mount Sunapee Flex Card, offering discounts on lift ticket & rentals for the remainder of the season.
-Free Introduction to Skiing/Riding (age 8+) - From opening day at the South Peak Learning Area until December 20, 2009, beginner skiers and riders ages 8 and older will receive a free learn to ski/ride package; advance reservations are required.
Pats Peak, Henniker
-Starter Special (age 6+) - Program includes a beginner group lesson, rental equipment and lift ticket to the Valley Area. The cost is $70.
-Passport Program (age 6+) - Beginner skiers or snowboarders purchase the Starter Package on three separate days & then on the fourth day purchase an all-day/all-mountain lift ticket to get a season pass good for the rest of the season at Pats Peak.
-Weekend Learn to Ski and Snowboard Program (age 6+) - This seven-week program is held on Saturday or Sunday with one hour of instruction and skiing the rest of the day. The adult lift/lesson package is $360; the adult lift/lesson/rental package is $490. The junior (ages 6-17) lift/lesson package is $290; the junior lift/lesson/rental package is $420.
Ragged Mountain, Danbury
-To The Top, Intro to Skiing & Riding (age 13+) - The goal of this program is to get participants skiing from the summit to base by the third lesson, or sooner. One lesson is $59 & a package of three lessons is $159. Both options include lift ticket, rentals and a two-hour lesson. At the completion of the third lesson, discounts on season passes will be made available, or Ragged Mountain will provide the skier or rider with a free one-day lift ticket.
Waterville Valley, Waterville Valley
-Learn to Ski/Ride Program (age 7+) - Participants receive a lesson, equipment rentals and beginner lift ticket on the first day for $80 along with a WV Pocket Guide. For the second lesson, participants show their Pocket Guide to receive a discounted package including equipment, a two-hour lesson & a beginner lift ticket for $80. On their third visit, they receive the same package, along with a voucher for a free pair of Anon goggles. After three days, participants receive a WV Love to Ski & Ride Pass, which is good for 50% off lift tickets, lessons and rentals for the rest of the season.
-Family "First Trails" (age 7+) - Families can enjoy learning a new sport and sharing their first experience on snow together with Family First Trails. It's designed for parents and children ages 7-12 who have never skied or snowboarded before. The package includes rental equipment, a learning area lift ticket for the day, and a 2-hour beginner lesson served up family-style. The cost is $400 for up to 4 family members and $80 per additional family member.
-Olympic Deal (age 7+) - In celebration of the 21st Winter Olympic Games, "WV Learn to Ski and Ride Weekend" is on the calendar for March 20-21. It features a $21 learn to ski or ride package that includes lesson, rental equipment, and a beginner area lift ticket.
Wildcat Mountain, Pinkham Notch
-Learn to Ski/Ride Beginner Package (age 13+) - Program includes a lesson, equipment rentals and Snow Cat beginner lift ticket for $65. Wildcat Mountain guarantees that if the new skier or rider is not able to make a run on the beginner area by the end of the first lesson, then the next learn-to-ski or learn-to-ride is free!
-Wildcat First Tracks Pass Program (ski age 6+, snowboard age 8+) - Participants complete four learn-to-ski or snowboard lessons (including equipment and lift tickets) and receive a Wildcat season pass for the rest of the season free. Learn-to lessons are two hours each. Participants must complete four full "learn-to" lessons in order to receive a First Tracks season pass. Cost is $219.
