NEW HAMPSHIRE SKI RESORTS OFFER WIDE ARRAY OF WOMEN'S ACTIVITIES AND SPECIALS
NORTH WOODSTOCK, NH, JANUARY 2009 - Many Ski NH winter resorts offer women-only classes in skiing and snowboarding, with the understanding that women often prefer to learn with other women, under the leadership of women instructors. Other programs are geared towards meeting the scheduling needs of busy women trying to manage work, a home, kids… and some much-needed snow time.
Programs specifically designed for women at Ski NH areas include the following:
Cannon, Franconia Notch
· Women's Ski Program - Two hour sessions held every Saturday and Sunday. Saturday programs emphasize improving skiing and riding. The Sunday session features a different topic every week. The cost is $38 per session.
Cranmore, North Conway
· Ski with the Girls - Ski with other women concentrating on refining skills, building confidence, and enjoying the mountain in all conditions. Group meets from 10am - 12:30pm on non-holiday Sundays. Enjoy any six sessions for $175 or $40 for a single session.
Crotched Mountain, Bennington
· Women's Clinic - This 5-week clinic on Wednesday mornings includes discussion about gear, technique and biomechanics specifically for women in a social setting. Day begins with a breakfast buffet followed by on-snow activities, and runs from 9am - noon, beginning 1/10/08. Package is $199 with lift tickets, $109 without.
Gunstock, Gilford
· WOW- Women's Only Wednesday's is a six-week program designed for women of all abilities. Includes two hours of lessons. Cost is $45 per session or $225 for all 6 weeks.
· Women's Weekends - On the first Saturday of each month clinics are held which include a morning coaching session, demo equipment, complimentary use of the NASTAR course, discounts at Mountainside Outfitters and more. The cost is $150 for a single day or $360 for all three sessions.
Loon Mountain, Lincoln
· Women's Breakthrough - This three-hour program is held 1/25/09 and 2/22/09 and is ideal for women who are comfortable on beginner trails and ready to break through to intermediate trails with confidence. Clinic runs from 9am-noon, cost is $85, a lift ticket is required and is not included in the cost.
Mount Sunapee, Newbury
· Ladies Day Tuesday - Available on non-holiday Tuesdays, ladies receive a lift ticket, luncheon buffet and half-price childcare for $46.
· Full-day women's workshops - Program includes four hours of instruction from 10am-12pm and 1-3pm with the same instructor, all mountain lift ticket and lunch. It's available as a one-day package for $195 and two-day packages at an additional cost.
· Weekly Workshops - Workshops are offered on Saturdays and Tuesdays from 10am-noon. Expert instructors help refine your technique for $30 per session on Tuesdays and $50 on Saturdays.
Pats Peak, Henniker
· WOW - Women's Only Wednesday begins with a continental breakfast and morning discussion. The group then goes on snow for a clinic taught by women. The seven-week program costs $269.
Ragged Mountain, Danbury
· Ladies Day - Lift tickets on non-holiday Mondays are only $25 for women.
Waterville Valley, Waterville Valley
· Women's Retreats - These sessions, held January 12-14, January 31-February1, and February 7-8, focus on improving skills and overcoming fear of difficult terrain. Guests are broken into small groups of similar abilities.
Wildcat Mountain, Pinkham Notch
· Ladies Thursdays - Women save $10 on their lift ticket, get a free lunch and 10am lesson and save 10% on the nursery on non-holiday Thursdays.
