New Hampshire has long been known for its varied fishing opportunities. Here, you can try your hand at fly fishing for brookies, trout, or large-mouth bass, or pack a traditional rod and see what else you might catch in one of New Hampshire's crystal clear freshwater lakes or streams. Know the rules though before you go. NH licenses are required for those 16 years of age and over and can be purchased online. Learn more at VisitNH.gov.

Fly Fishing in the White Mountains
Experience fly fishing in one of New Hampshire's most scenic and pristine fly fishing destinations. Try your hand at angling the Ammonoosuc River or any of a number of local rivers and streams, take a casting lesson or indulge in a guided river adventure. New Hampshire fishing licenses are required for fishing off property and may be purchased online before your visit or the Activities Concierge, located in the Great Hall of the Omni Mount Washington Hotel, can assist you in obtaining one. Gunstock Mountain Resort's 3-acre pond is regularly stocked by NH Fish and Game throughout the spring and summer.
The pond is currently stocked with both brook and rainbow trout. Keep an eye on our Events Calendar for upcoming fishing derbies hosted by Gilford Fire Department and the Laconia Rod and Gun club.

Fishing in Waterville Valley
Those looking to cast their line will not be disappointed by Waterville Valley’s fishing locales. Corcoran’s Pond is stocked with fish at the beginning of the summer season, making it a popular fishing spot among visitors and locals alike.
The Mad River is home to rainbow trout, offering fly fishing opportunities for the whole family.
Nestled in the notch between Mount Osceola and Mount Kancamagus sits Greeley Ponds – the headwaters of the Mad River. Greeley Ponds is only accessible via hiking or biking and is stocked with eastern brook trout. This pond offers a nice beach and views of the cliffs of Mount Osceola.
