Total Solar Eclipse

Sunapee Section

Where will you be on April 8, 2024?

Get ready to witness one of the most breathtaking natural phenomena on this date as New Hampshire is set to experience a Total Solar Eclipse! Starting at 3:28 PM EST -- for 3 minutes and 15 seconds -- the skies will darken and all will become still as the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking its light.

This is a rare opportunity to witness the eclipse in its full glory, as Northern New Hampshire will be in the eclipse's Path of Totality, and most other areas of the state will be in the 95% of Totality viewing range. Don't miss this chance to be a part of history, as the last time New Hampshire was in the direct path of a Solar Eclipse was in 1959, and the next one won't be here for another 55 years!

And if you're looking for the best view of the eclipse, why not head to one of the many ski resorts in NH? With events planned throughout the day, you can enjoy the eclipse while hitting the slopes or taking part in other exciting activities. So mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable experience that you'll be talking about for years to come. Here are some safety guidelines to review before viewing the eclipse.
