Guided Fly Fishing at Bretton Woods
Experience fly fishing in one of New Hampshire's most scenic and pristine fly fishing destinations. Try your hand at angling the Ammonoosuc River or any of a number of local rivers and streams, take a casting lesson, indulge in a four-hour guided river adventure, or try your hand at Tenkara - the Japanese method of fly fishing.
Our custom Guided Fly Fishing River Adventures will allow you to test your skills on a classic New England trout stream located on the Omni Mount Washington Resort property. In the shadow of Mount Washington and the Presidential Range, you and your guide will explore the local streams and ponds in search of the famed rainbow trout and native brook trout.

- Start time will vary depending on destination and schedule and will generally be between 7:00am and 8:00am.

*Please note, guests must present a valid printed fishing license from the State of New Hampshire prior to departure. If not already purchased, you may purchase a license online. The guide and the guest(s) will then get outfitted with a vest, an assortment of flies, and fly rod. Then it is off to the stream!

More >Flume Gorge
Visit the Flume Gorge which is a stunning natural wonder in Franconia Notch State Park. Discovered in 1808, it will leave you spellbound as you stroll the path from the main walkway through the Flume Gorge and Liberty Gorge. The Flume is a natural granite gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The total path is 2 miles in length and takes approximately 1.5 hours. You'll see towering moss-covered granite walls rising to a spectacular height of 90 feet, cascading waterfalls, historic covered bridges, glacial pools & boulders, and much more.

As part of the Franconia Notch State Parks with Cannon Mountain, you can check out The Basin which is a granite pothole 20 feet in diameter at the base of the beautiful waterfall, it is believed to have been eroded 15,000 years ago while the North American ice sheet was melting. The Basin has been smoothed by small stones and sand, whirled around by the Pemigewasset River.

Visitors can go try their hand at fly fishing at the base of Cannon Mountain at either Profile Lake or Echo Lake which are stocked with trout.
More >Echo Lake Beach
At Echo Lake Beach, visitors can enjoy the beauty of a 39-acre lake with an excellent view. The slopes of Cannon Mountain ski area drop right to the edge of the lake, and the view highlights where the Franconia Range and Kinsman Range meet, creating the notch. Canoes, Kayaks, and Pedal Boats are also available for rent at Echo Lake for beach visitors with reservations.

Go fishing! You'll find plenty of pickerel and smallmouth bass to catch and release and enough panfish, perch, and sunfish to keep all ages involved.
Please bring your own fishing rod and tackle. NH licenses for those 16 years of age and over can be purchased online.
Please fish away from docks, swim areas, and beaches.

Waterfalls & Swimming Holes
There's no shortage of alpine brooks, mountain-fed streams, and roaring rivers here in the Valley. And when summer arrives and the snow melts, it becomes clear why Waterville Valley got its name. The Valley is home to a plethora of exquisite waterfalls, from punchbowls to cascades.
You can access the Valley's waterfalls through easy hikes, with the option of taking Snow's Mountain scenic chairlift to shorten your hike. Take a mid-hike dip in the invigorating glacial waters, or enjoy the thrill of cliff-jumping. Or simply take in the clear mountain air while enjoying the serenity of the babbling waterfalls.

Right next to Town Square you'll find the mountain stream-fed Corcoran's Pond. At Corcoran’s Pond waterfront you’ll find a fleet of over 20 kayaks, pedal boats, canoes and Stand Up Paddle Boards are available for rent at the Town Square dock.
