Winter Fat Tire Biking

Experience the grounds of the historic Omni Mount Washington Resort and the White Mountain National Forest through our extensive network of fat tire biking trails. Starting from the Bretton Woods Nordic Center, we have an extensive network of trails over varying terrain.

We DO NOT have fat tire bikes available for rent 2024-2025 season.

Fat Biking

Even though trails are covered with snow in the winter, it's still a great time to get out and bike! We offer fat tire bike rentals that glide over snow with ease. Check out over 10 miles of groomed trails that start from the Inn, or head over to Parker Mountain in Littleton that features beautifully groomed trails and a terrain park!

Fatbiking at Great Glen Trails

Fatbikes are softer and the wide tires make it possible to ride on the surface of the snow. Fatbikes are allowed on our trail system as long as the snow surface conditions will allow for safe, non-impactive biking. It is not permitted to fatbike if the snow is too soft if the bike leaves a rut or if you are having trouble keeping the bike in a straight line. Always best to call ahead if you are in doubt.

Want to give it a go? Rentals are available in adult (26′ wheels) and junior (24′ wheels). Comes with rental helmet. A trail pass is required and offered at a discounted rate.

Fat Biking

Go where you can't with your mountain bike. What started as a way for cyclists to ride through the winter, now is a fun, year-round activity on terrain that was once un-rideable (snow, sand, and mixed-condition trails).The Waterville Valley Nordic Center has several trails designated for daily fat bike use, see trail report for open trails.
