Experience the wonder of snow-covered trails on the grounds of the majestic Omni Mount Washington Resort. With little to no learning curve, snowshoeing can be enjoyed by people of all ages and fitness levels. From an easy stroll to a backcountry hike, this sport offers a great way to stay fit and enjoy the great outdoors. Follow groomed Nordic trails or make your own path through deep untouched snow, take in stunning Presidential Range vistas, explore the trails that meander along the Ammonoosuc River, or trek over the high-country snowshoe trails along the ridgeline of the Bretton Woods Mountain Resort. Please call the Nordic Center for more information at 603-278-3322.

Snowshoe Nature Walk

Strap on your snowshoes and join us for a fun and relaxing guided walk through woodland trails and along the brook. This tour provides a great aerobic workout with minimal effort required. Breathe in the fresh mountain air as you immerse yourself in this restorative stroll. Tours are held weekly on Saturdays from 2 to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. throughout the winter season (weather permitting). Meet your guide at Gunstock Nordic Center 15-20 minutes prior to tour departure. Snowshoe rentals included. Feel free to bring your own gear or use the snowshoes we'll have reserved for you.

Snowshoe Ridge Tours!

Enjoy a fun, beautiful evening-snowshoe experience, with minimal effort required. With headlamps and snowshoes provided, we'll board the Tiger Chair to ascend the mountain, then traverse the ridge on foot for a great outdoor adventure and spectacular views! Tours begins at 4 m. Meet your guide at the Gunstock Nordic Center 15-20 minutes prior to tour departure. Tours are scheduled Saturday nights during the winter season (weather permitting). Feel free to bring your own gear or use the snowshoes we'll have reserved for you.

Showshoeing at Loon Adventure Center

There’s nothing quite like strapping into a pair of snowshoes to explore the White Mountains in winter. Our scenic trail network offers a unique portal to the northern forest, with trails meandering along the snow-covered Pemigewasset River and switchbacks high onto the shoulder of Black Mountain.

On your journey through the forest, you’ll snowshoe under towering white pines, notice abundant animal tracks, and enjoy the quiet beauty of the surrounding White Mountain National Forest.

Snowshoeing

Access to the snowshoe trails are by the base of the Hurricane chair (Blue Trail) and by the pond on the far side of the Valley area (Green Trail Loop). The snowshoe trails are all connected and make a complete 4-mile loop. Please be aware that Pats Peak does not patrol or maintain these snowshoeing trails. There is no cost to use our snowshoe trails. Remember, our snowshoe trails depend on natural snowfall. There are limited snowshoes available for rent in the rental shop.
