Summer Activities
Ski areas aren’t just for skiing—and summer brings plenty of unexpected ways to enjoy New Hampshire’s mountains and surrounding communities. Go with the flow on one of New Hampshire’s scenic rivers, cast a line from shore, explore the region's ski history at a museum, take a yoga class with a view, or try your hand at archery or bowling.
These are just a few of the activities you’ll find below. Be sure to check out the side navigation bar on this page for even more ways to make the most of summer in New Hampshire. Whatever your idea of fun, there’s another adventure waiting!
Fly Fishing in the White Mountains
Experience fly fishing in one of New Hampshire's most scenic and pristine fly fishing destinations. Try your hand at angling the Ammonoosuc River or any of a number of local rivers and streams, take a casting lesson or indulge in a guided river adventure. New Hampshire fishing licenses are required for fishing off property and may be purchased online before your visit or the Activities Concierge, located in the Great Hall of the Omni Mount Washington Hotel, can assist you in obtaining one. For more information, please call the Adventure Center at 603-278-3320. Guided instruction and guided trips are available upon request.
More >New England Ski Museum
The New England Ski Museum collects, conserves and exhibits elements of ski history for the purposes of research, education and inspiration. Cannon Mountain is the only ski area in the United States with a ski museum on its property. The original museum was founded in Conway in 1977; a second museum opened in 1982 in a former vehicle maintenance building at the base of the Cannon Mountain Tramway in Franconia Notch State Park.
