"Snow" Many Ways to Enjoy the Holiday Vacation Week

Most NH ski areas are now open for skiing, riding, and other snow sports.

Before heading out, it's good to check which trails are open, what trail conditions are, what events are happening, and if reservations are required.


    Special Events and Activities to Help You Create Wonderful Vacation Memories You'll Treasure

    The following is just a sampling of the many special events happening this coming weekend:

    Dec. 26-31 - Cranapalooza from 2:30-7 pm at Cranmore Mountain Resort. Smores, night skiing, games, C-more the Penguin, and more. Live music is from 4-7 pm in Zip's Pub. Fireworks are at 4:30 pm on New Year's Eve.

    Dec. 31 - New Summit Lift Name Unveiling - at 8 am at Attitash Mountain Resort. Attitash will announce the name and plans for the new summit quad that will be installed for the 2023/24 ski season. Grab your best ugly sweater and join in as Attitash announces the name of the new summit quad. Celebrate the end of an era with hot cocoa, limited edition giveaways, and breakfast sandwiches for the first 50 people.

    Dec. 31 - Family Fun Night from 4:30-7 pm at Cannon Mountain will feature live music in the Cannonball Pub, skiing and riding (conditions permitting) under the lights on Huckerbrook from 4:30-6:30 pm and a torchlight parade and fireworks starting at 6:30 pm.

    Dec. 31 - Family Friendly New Year's Eve Celebration at Pats Peak Ski Area. Night Skiing/Riding starts at 4 pm. Lifts close at 9:45 pm. Live music from 6-10 pm. Watch the Fireworks Display starting at 10:20 pm.

    Dec. 31 - An End of Year Celebration will be held at Loon Mountain Resort in the Paul Bunyan Room and will include music, a midnight champagne toast, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, and beverages. This is a ticketed event that can be booked on Loon Mountain’s website.  

    Dec. 31 - Family Friendly New Year's Eve Celebration
    at Pats Peak Ski Area. Night lift tickets for skiing and riding start at 4 pm and run until 9:45 pm. The McMurphy’s will be playing in the Sled Pub from 6-10 pm and Fireworks will begin at 10:20 pm.

    Dec. 31Fireworks in Town Square at Waterville Valley Resort start at 7:30 pm.

    Jan. 1 - Jackson Jaunt 10K Classic Ski Event and Race begins at 8 am at Jackson XC.

    Other resorts will be featuring special games and activities, and live music on New Year's Eve!

    From bunny hills to black diamonds, most NH trails will be open during the holidays to accommodate every cross-country and alpine skier and rider. For those who prefer other activities, there are endless other activities to try, from après ski, tubing, ice skating, night skiing, uphill travel, and canopy tours, to coaster rides, snowcoach rides up Mt. Washington, and snowshoeing and fat biking at many of our nordic ski areas (call ahead to ensure that the trails are open for these activities).
