Ski NH Low Voltage / Lift Mechanic Training and Snowmaker Seminars were created to offer hands-on learning opportunities at ski areas across the state, helping lift mechanics and snowmakers expand their skills while building connections, camaraderie, and a culture of knowledge-sharing.

2026 Seminars and Training Days

Snowmakers Seminar, April 30-May 1, 2026, at Gunstock Mountain Resort

This spring, the Snowmakers Seminar will have its own separate program that will include two full days of hands-on training, networking, and fun activities (including a snowmakers relay). Educational sessions will include: Intro to Electrical Theory, Electrical Safety & Print Reading, Snowgun Safety, On-The-Hill Tour of Gunstock's Snowmaking System, Pumphouse Controls and Communications 101 & 201, Compressor Controls 101 & 201, and Snowmaker Math, plus roundtables and a Snowmakers Relay for fun. All meals will be included. All participants will receive a certificate of completion.

2026 LIFT (Lift Industry Focused Training) Days

This year, the seminar steering committee is exploring a new approach to provide more focused sessions over a period of time, instead of in a specific two-day block. This will allow Ski NH to offer more entry-level sessions as well as advanced hands-on lift mechanic education, while providing staff development opportunities at a variety of NH ski areas. To date, upcoming events include the following:

May 13, 2026 - Ski Lift Electrical Theory at Waterville Valley Resort

This one-day program will offer a day for new and Level 1 mechanics to include an introduction to Ski Lift Electrical and will include topics such as AC vs. DC, turning on meters, relay logic, and reading basic schematics.

June 2, 2026 - Open Sessions as part of Ski NH Annual Conference

June 2 is the full day of educational sessions and trade shows for our annual conference, and on this day we will include lift maintenance and lift operations-related sessions that will be open to all at no additional cost (besides the conference attendance fee).

June 3, 2026 - More advanced hands-on classes for Level 2 + 3 mechanics at Bretton Woods

These advanced sessions will be offered the day after the annual conference and will include troubleshooting at lifts. A detailed schedule is still being developed, but interested parties should bookmark these dates.
