Mt. Washington Ski Touring & Snowshoe Foundation

Weekly Guided Snowshoe Tour

Depart every Saturday (weather permitting) from the Touring Center at 1:00 pm. Ideal for first-timers and novices interested in learning basic techniques.

Join us any Saturday afternoon for a guided snowshoe walk along the East Branch and Saco rivers. This is a great way to try this winter activity which is gaining in popularity with each season. 

The tour will last between 1.5 - 2 hours covering a distance of fewer than 2 miles at an easy pace suitable for all ages and abilities. Learn about the trees and wildlife and search for animal tracks while learning basic snowshoeing technique and bushwacking skills.

Grom Jam Park Event

Skiers and snowboarders ages 15 and under will showcase their abilities and battle it out in a shred fest. $10 Entry. Registration from 9-10:30am in the Main Lodge.

Powered by Ski Haus, Never Summer Industries,  Gnarbear & Cannon Parks, skiers & riders of all ages are invited to compete for a chance to win skis, snowboards, sweet apparel & more!

Saturday, January 13: Rail Jam 
Saturday, February 10: Big Air
Saturday, March 10: Slopestyle & final raffle for competitors who participated in all 3 events. 

There will be a huge raffle at the final awards party on March 10th following the slopestyle anyone who entered all 3 competitions will have their name thrown in the pot!

Registration: 9-11am, Guest Services
Practice: 11:15-12:15, event location
Competitor Meeting (mandatory): 12:15
Competition start: 12:30
Awards: time and location will be announced at the competitors' meeting

Helmets required. ID or credit card needed for bib deposit.

Great Glen Trails

Ski with a Naturalist

In conjunction with the Appalachian Mountain Club, Great Glen Trails offers you the chance to really get to know Pinkham Notch, with a FREE tour (trail pass is required). When you ski with a naturalist, you will learn about the flora and fauna that make our corner of the world so special. More info

Technique Improvement Clinics

A four-week program of coed, on-snow clinics for adult skiers, intermediate level and above. The program is led by Ski School Director and 1984 Olympian, Sue Wemyss. 
A weekly ski class emphasizing on instruction, a supportive atmosphere, and fun. Open to ages 16 – adult. Participants should have some prior cross country skiing experience, have an interest in learning and improving, and have the desire to be part of a fun and supportive group. See schedule.

Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides

When: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Every Saturday starting December 30, 2017 through February 24, 2018 | Additional dates include: Sunday, January 14; Tuesday, February 20 and Thursday, February 22, 2018.

Cost: $20 Age 13+ | $15 Age 12 and under - Space is limited and reservations are recommended to reserve available seats, please call 800-373-3754 to make your reservation.

Enjoy the classic experience of riding among surrounding fields and within wooded trails in a horse-driven sleigh. A unique winter fun outing for families and friends of all ages. In addition to the approximate 15-20 minute ride in the sleigh, we invite you to warm yourself by an outdoor fire before and after your ride and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa.

Where: Parking and rides begin and end at an outdoor location approximately one mile south of King Pine / half-mile south Purity Spring Resort on Route 153. Entrance to parking area is on the south-bound side of Route 153 and noticeable signing will be out during operating times.

Guided Snowshoe Tour

During the winter months, guided snowshoe tours may be available on Saturdays at 2 p.m. (weather permitting) and are $12 per person ($20 with snowshoe rentals).

Interested participants are asked to sign-up and meet at The Mill Indoor Pool & Fitness Center across from the Purity Spring Main Office before the start of the tour.

Please call ahead to confirm date of scheduled snowshoe tours.
