Lift Industry Focused Training

This year, Ski NH is expanding its lift mechanic training beyond its low-voltage electrical safety seminar to include mechanical and hydraulics instruction. Renamed Lift Industry-Focused Training (LIFT) Days, sessions will be held over time rather than in a two-day block, allowing for more entry-level and advanced hands-on training while supporting staff development across NH ski areas. May 13, 2026 -Ski Lift Electrical Theory at Waterville Valley Resort

This one-day program will offer new and Level 1 mechanics an introduction to Ski Lift Electrical, covering AC vs. DC, basic meters, relay logic, and reading basic schematics. Space is limited to 20 Ski NH member ski area staff. Registration is currently open only to Ski NH members. Interested parties should email Melody@SkiNH.com or click here to register.

June 3, 2026 - LIFT Day at Bretton Woods

This one-day seminar for lift mechanics, designed to build on existing experience, focuses on real-world applications to help mechanics diagnose issues and optimize lift operations. The program will provide hands-on training in key technical areas for lift maintenance and performance, including hydraulics, PLC systems, speed feedback, motor drive tuning, and electrical troubleshooting.

The day also includes a lunchtime roundtable for knowledge sharing and camaraderie, and concludes with a raffle and happy hour to continue conversations and strengthen connections.

After registering, participants will choose two areas of focus (a morning track and an afternoon track) from the following:

Hydraulics 101 and 102 with brakes & tension at lift (morning & afternoon options)
Introduction to PLC (morning option only)
Intermediate PLC & Print Reading (afternoon option only)
Speed feedback & motor drive tuning (morning & afternoon options)
Lift electrical troubleshooting.1 + 2 (morning & afternoon options)
