GILFORD, N.H. — February 8, 2026 — Snow Angel Foundation Founder Chauncy Johnson will visit Gunstock Mountain Resort on Sunday, February 8, to partner with the resort’s Ski Patrol to reinforce a shared commitment to education-driven mountain safety. Johnson will be on site meeting with Gunstock race teams and engaging guests during a community-focused, on-snow safety event, sharing messages on how to avoid on-slope collisions. The visit builds on Gunstock’s long-standing leadership as an early and active partner in the #RideAnotherDay safety campaign.

“Gunstock is proud to champion the ‘Ride Another Day’ message because we believe safety is a skill, just like making a turn,” said Robert Drake, president and general manager at Gunstock Mountain Resort. “By teaching our guests to be ready, stay alert, and plan ahead, we aren’t just preventing collisions—we’re building a community of skiers who look out for one another.”

Gunstock’s educational approach begins before guests even load a lift. Its First Timers Guide focuses on fundamentals such as learning how to fall safely and loading and unloading lifts correctly, setting expectations that preparation—not recklessness—is the foundation of fun. On the hill, Gunstock reinforces progression-based safety through Park SMART messaging and the Orange Oval terrain park designation, encouraging riders to start small and build skills responsibly.

“Gunstock exemplifies what effective safety education looks like,” said Johnson. “They don’t treat safety as a list of rules—they treat it as something you learn, practice, and carry with you. That mindset is exactly what helps athletes, families, and first-timers alike ride another day.”

Chauncy Johnson’s visit will include conversations with Gunstock race teams about awareness, spacing, and shared responsibility at speed, as well as guest-facing engagement reinforcing collision-prevention principles that apply across all ability levels.

Media are welcome to attend and cover the February 8 visit. Interview opportunities with Chauncy Johnson and Gunstock safety leadership are available by request.
