Join us for this 47th annual 10k Freestyle (skate ski) Race, which is part of the ZAK Cup Series. Located on the grounds of the historic Mount Washington Hotel and the White Mountain National Forest, the Bretton Woods Nordic Center is one of the largest cross country areas in the East. The 100-km trail network crosses open fields, meanders through woods of spruce and fir, passes beaver ponds and mountain streams, and traverses open hardwood stands.

New this winter! The Glen House Speaker Series (co-hosted by Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center) features three speakers from our local community and highlight topics of interest. All talks are hosted at the Glen House Hotel and are free and open to the public. Masks are recommended.

Mac Pack Rail Jam series, join us to test your skill at the Mac Pack Terrain Park. 

Season Dates: January 22, February 19, February 26, and March 20. $20 Registration includes a lift ticket during the time of the event and 2 runs.

Registration begins at 11am and will close 15 minutes before the competition. Competition begins at 6pm.

Explore the natural beauty of winter at night on a 1.5 hour tour from 7:00pm - 8:30pm.

Experience the wonder of a night time winter walk in the woods. Join a Naturalist from the Appalacian Mountain Club on a guided snowshoe tour. We will use our senses (and no flashlights) to navigate the rails while listending for owls calling and exploring our senses.

Tours leave from the The Mill at Purity Spring Resort (less than a quarter mile from King Pine base lodge south on Route 153) and group will meet outside, under cover near the main door to the Purity Spring Resort guest check-in office.

A talk and book signing with local Olympian Sue Wemyss

Fifty-three American women have participated in cross-country skiing in the Winter Olympics between 1972 and 2018. In 2018, Jessie Diggins and Kikkan Randall won Olympic gold in the Team Sprint in South Korea, the first Olympic medal for U.S. women’s cross-country skiing. Five decades of women skiers stood up and cheered, celebrating this long sought-after achievement. Trail to Gold shares the collective journey of these women Olympians—with the skiers themselves telling the story.

All are welcome to join Waterville Valley Resort's Torchlight Parade on the evening of Friday, February 25th, where skiers & riders will descend the mountain in a spectacle of light. All guests will be given free glow sticks to illuminate their descent down Exhibition. Trails will also be illuminated by Resort staff who will have red flairs that illuminate the snow with a crimson glow.

Waterville Valley’s Bigfoot Adventure Walk teaches children about the area and wildlife while they embark on a nature walk in search of Bigfoot. The adventure walk activity is approximately 90 minutes long, beginning and ending at the Waterville Valley Recreation Dept. This fun-filled activity is available to children ages 5 -12 years old. Parents are welcome to join or leave the tracking to the little ones while they go grab an appetizer at a local restaurant. The Adventure walk is outside. Please wear suitable clothes and footwear for winter weather. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
